The trip begins in Beijing, the capital of China and you will spend the first day walking on the Great Wall as well as seeing the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. In Gansu province you can witness the aspects of both modern and old China while in Xiahe just outside of Lhasa, visit Labrang Monastery known as one of the most important Tibetan monasteries. Hike up into the mountains and be in awe of the breathtaking scenery. Have a spicy meal in Chengdu and then visit the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base developed in 1990. Let your imagination run wild on the legendary Silk Road, an adventure that stretches 4000km across the breadth of China. Visit the highlights of Beijing including the Forbidden City and Tiananmenn Square before moving onto Xi'an, the start point of the ancient trade route. Travel by train across the Gobi Desert fringe to the Ming Dynasty fortress of Jiayuguan at the western end of the Great Wall. Continue across the desert to Turpan and the ruined city of Jiaohe. Take the Southern Silk Road visiting the night market at Korla on the way to Hotan. The tour culminates in a visit to the crossroads town of Kashgar.
