Travel to Palmyra to witness the grand spectacle of Krak des Chevaliers, the imposing fortress that remains one of the world's most impressive castles. Visit the finest bath houses in Syria then head across the border into Turkey where you can spend some time sightseeing and getting to know the locals in the Ihlara Valley. Nile & Red Sea Journey

This journey begins in Cairo, with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, ancient pyramids and the enigmatic Sphinx, before travelling south to Aswan where we visit the fabulous temples at Abu Simbel before boarding our Nile riverboat for a magical cruise downriver to Luxor. Our boat has a great on-board atmosphere, with comfortable airconditioned cabins - each with their own private shower and toilet. In addition there is a cosy restaurant, where all meals are served, and a rooftop bar. The spacious top deck is ideal for sunbathing and relaxing, with excellent views of the river.The final treat is a couple of days of R&R at Hurghada, on the balmy Red Sea coast, where we enjoy a full day out on the reef.All in all, this itinerary offers a great mixture of activity, culture and fun at a very relaxed pace.

Your tour of Egypt begins in Cairo. You will visit the many wonders of this ancient city such as the pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum, as well as its fascinating Arab-influenced medieval side. You will also visit the excellent Islamic Art Museum, Khan el Khalili bazaar, Al Azhar Mosque and enjoy a walk through the atmospheric streets of Islamic Cairo.As you move on to Aswan, you will soak up the town's laid-back charm, visit the impressive Temple of Isis on Philae Island, explore the excellent souk (market) and the following day, there's time for a morning trip to Abu Simbel. Then it's time for a change of pace as you board your Nile cruise boat, bound for Luxor.After visiting the temples of Komombo and Edfu along the Nile, you will have time to see all the highlights of Luxor. You will spend a morning in and around the Valley of the Kings, and discover Karnak Temple - one of Egypt's best.
